 Day 1 - Travel to Portugal

Awake at 4.30 and on the road at 5.30am in a dash to catch the midday Chunnel and squeeze in a coffee with Sylvia, Steve's sister.

An easy drive, 2 stops before the Chunnel then we joined the queue ready to board.

Once we had boarded, 45 minutes later, we were in Calais France.

We travelled down through France, stopping at the services on the way down. We got some very strange looks when we whipped out a camping stove and a kettle outside and made coffee whilst we rested.

We stopped in Evreux, between Paris and Le Mans at a little hotel, not the best but a bed and a shower!! We walked around trying to find a restaurant that served vegetarian food, there was none and the supermarket was closed, luckily we had soup and bread in the car and a camping stove, so that was our dinner.
