5.15 a.m Tuesday morning

We broke out quietly feeling like criminals, it was very stressful and we didn't relax until we got to a café about an hour away for breakfast.
It was my first chance to practice my Portuguese, I remembered the correct phrase and was able to make myself understood by asking
"A conta por favor (The bill please)
All went well, until he replied with the amount in Portuguese, he repeated it in English as we looked blankly at him......note to self - must learn my numbers!
After a trip to Intermarché to get food supplies, we made our way to the hotel and was very relieved to find the air conditioning on in the room (temperatures are in the late 30's at the moment)
Our plan is to get our NIF's tomorrow, this is our equivalent to a National Insurance number and you need it to do most things in Portugal.
