Shooting stars and The Milky Way

Very clear night tonight, no light pollution, the stars were amazing!!

We stood outside for some time marvelling at how clear the sky was, so clear we could see The Milky Way!

As I watched the stars, I saw my first shooting star......

Steve could not believe that was the first one I had ever seen, growing up in the Shetlands gives you much more opportunity to see things like these than the city does.

We downloaded an app to help us identify the constellations more clearly, it helped somewhat but the compass function was not working so it was unable to identify what we could see in front of us.

We marvelled in the beauty in front of us and how small we felt as humankind....quite humbling!
